Appliance Information
Enter the information exactly as it appears on the appliance data label.
Where To Look
The model, serial and other production information are printed on the manufacturer rating plate.
Look inside the fresh-food section, along an interior wall, ceiling, door area, or near the crisper drawers.
Check around the door opening, lid area, or rear panel.
Open the door and inspect the inner door edge or tub frame.
Check the oven door frame or storage drawer area.
How It Works
Some brands encode the date in the serial number. Bosch and Thermador use an FD number. Sub-Zero commonly prints the manufacture date directly on the rating plate.
The checker chooses the correct manufacturer date system.
Provide the serial or FD number shown on the appliance rating plate.
If a code can represent multiple decades, the checker shows the possible dates rather than guessing.
Important
Some manufacturers reuse year codes. Therefore, a serial number can occasionally correspond to more than one possible production year.
When the serial number alone cannot prove the exact production year, the checker shows possible dates rather than presenting an uncertain result as fact.
